Children's museum and informal EE in creeks with school classes 19:55:18 From Samsung Galaxy S7 : I like how you record exactly what students say. It would be fascinating to look for patterns of learning, such as what Astrid said about how emotions come out in connection to learning in nature. 19:55:51 From Ian Shanahan : We will certainly follow up on this question. 20:08:23 From kirsten @ lessons in nature : I am thinking of about 4 different learning story opportunities with our garden, our nature walks, our art projects and our robotics time - we have an exhibit hall during our county fair and I hope to incorporate some panels with our stories in that. 20:08:36 From EVERSCH : How long to you keep your documentation in view of students or parents in the classroom? I'm lacking wall space... 20:08:53 From Samsung Galaxy S7 : Thanks Ian! 20:08:56 From kirsten @ lessons in nature : The kids like to share and it will help in planning other activities as we learn what engages the kids. 20:14:50 From Samsung Galaxy S7 : Outside, I tend to drop pics into a pre-setup Google Slide show. Speech to text from various apps can also be dropped in after. It is tricky to do this and not be distracted from being in the moment myself. I teach young students, but maybe older students could have more ownership of this process. 20:14:55 From EVERSCH : With tech, I tend to ask the kids to predict what they will see in our "forest". Then they go on a hunt with the iPad or camera. But I love the selfy idea to identify the documenter! 20:17:22 From kirsten @ lessons in nature : I like the "view" of the forest idea! We do scavenger hunts and photography workshops, putting the 2 together would be great and add the literacy part with recording their reactions and stories about what is happening in the forest. 20:20:55 From kirsten @ lessons in nature : we look for animal homes, tracks, patterns in the ice and snow, etc - we do have a theme and they also adopt a tree so we could tell the story throughout the year of the tree 20:27:15 From Samsung Galaxy S7 : So agree that embodying inquiry process is happening exceptionally well in the early years, and it is exciting to see it percolate up! 20:29:03 From Ian Shanahan : https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MDMQJ6P 20:29:12 From kirsten @ lessons in nature : THank you all! 20:29:35 From EVERSCH : Such a great webinar! Can't wait to discuss the ideas with my colleagues. Merci! 20:29:37 From Samsung Galaxy S7 : Thank you! Super job! Fascinating! 20:29:41 From Judy : I earned my education degree back in the 70's. this is my first exposure to Learning Stories and I thank you for an excellent presentation. 20:30:03 From Angelique Harshman’s iPhone to Ian Shanahan(Privately) : Thank you, great info! 20:30:19 From Biret Adden : Thank you!
