Increase in electric vehicles and charging stations

The number of EVs is increasing rapidly worldwide with over 10 million EVs on the road in 2020 with no sign of slowing down.1 In the U.S., EVs have increased from 4,000 in 2010 to 1.5 million in 2020. Canada had 141,000 EVs by 2020.2 By the year 2030, there are projected to be 15 million EVs on the road in the U.S.3 With this projected growth it is important for municipalities to plan for EV charging stations as soon as possible.4

EV charging ports are quickly increasing with about 7.3 million charging ports worldwide in 2019.5
